It can be difficult to identify the front end assemblies
because they may not always be original equipment. Before installing, compare
old and new tubes. Be sure the stock top plugs fit into the new fork tubes. To
avoid scratching the chrome, we suggest that the tubes be lightly rubbed with
oil before installing into fork legs. Be absolutely sure you have the right
tubes before you install them.

 
A different size fork tubes is needed to work on some FLT models 2002-2005 use cartridge damper on the left side.
Some models are using 2 cartridge dampers (1 in each tube).
